The rules that govern your use of our website and our hauling, cleanout, and demolition services — including the full terms of our text messaging program.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Grit Bros Hauling website and services (the “Services”). By using our website, requesting an estimate, or hiring us for a job, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our website or our Services. These Terms work alongside our Privacy Policy.
Grit Bros Hauling provides junk removal, estate and property cleanouts, garage and basement cleanouts, appliance and furniture removal, construction debris removal, and shed, deck, and minor demolition for residential and commercial customers across Chicago and its western and northwest suburbs.
The specific scope of any job — the items to be removed, the areas to be cleared, and the price — is defined in the estimate and agreement between Grit Bros Hauling and each customer. Nothing on this website is a binding offer until an estimate is confirmed.
Where our Services require entering a home, garage, yard, business, or other property, the customer authorizes Grit Bros Hauling and its crew to enter the property and to remove, haul, and dispose of the agreed items. Customers represent that they own those items, or otherwise have the legal right to have them removed and disposed of, and that they have the authority to grant access to the property.
Before work begins, customers are responsible for removing personal belongings, documents, valuables, and anything else they wish to keep from the areas being cleared. We recommend walking the area with our crew before loading starts.
Authorization may be withdrawn at any time before or during a job by telling the crew on site or calling us, which will end our ability to continue the work. Work already performed up to that point remains billable.
Removal is permanent. Once items are hauled away they are donated, recycled, or disposed of and cannot be recovered.
You agree not to misuse the Services, including by attempting to access our website without authorization, interfering with its operation, or using it to submit unlawful, misleading, or infringing content.
We do not remove hazardous or regulated materials. This includes, but is not limited to:
Customers are responsible for the accuracy of the information they give us about a job — including the volume, weight, location, and nature of the items — and for disclosing any known hazardous material at the site. If undisclosed hazardous materials or unsafe conditions are found on arrival, we may decline or stop the job.
Our website and booking tools rely on third-party platforms, including Google and our scheduling and messaging providers. Your use of those platforms is also subject to their respective terms and policies. We are not responsible for the availability, changes, or actions of third-party services.
The disposal, donation, and recycling facilities we use are independent third parties operating under their own rules, fees, and hours.
Estimates are free and carry no obligation. Pricing is based primarily on the volume of material removed, along with labor, access, and disposal factors.
Quotes given by phone, text, or from photos are preliminary. The final price is confirmed on site before work begins, and we will not start a job without your approval of that price. Any additional work requested after a job has started may change the price and will be confirmed with you first.
Payment is due on completion unless a separate written arrangement is in place. Billing terms and the term of engagement for commercial or recurring work are set out in the separate agreement or proposal between Grit Bros Hauling and the customer.
The Services are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law.
We do not guarantee that a job can be completed within a particular timeframe, that specific items can be donated or recycled rather than disposed of, or that surfaces, structures, or landscaping will be unaffected by the normal removal of heavy or bulky items. We take care with our customers’ property, but reasonable wear from moving large items is part of the work.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Grit Bros Hauling will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us for the job giving rise to the claim.
We are fully insured. Claims relating to property damage should be reported to us promptly so they can be reviewed. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Either party may cancel or reschedule a job by contacting the other before the scheduled arrival time, or as described in the applicable customer agreement. We ask that you let us know as soon as you know, so we can offer the slot to another customer.
We may decline, suspend, or stop a job if these Terms are violated, if the site is unsafe, if the work turns out to be materially different from what was described, or if access to the property cannot be provided. We may also suspend or terminate access to our website if these Terms are violated.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Illinois, where Grit Bros Hauling is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois.
